Mr. Wijaya Dahanayake
Hon. Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs

Hon.Dahanyake who studied at the Mahinda College, Galle and the Royal College, Colombo, entered to the active Politics in 1990 as the SLFP Organizer for the Deniyaya Electorate in Matara District.

In Politics, he continues the Political Thinking of his father, late Sumanapala Dahanayake, who was the Member of Parliament, represented Deniyaya Electorate during 1960 – 1990.

He represented the People of Matara firstly at the Southern Provincial Council in 1994 and he served as the Vice Chairman of the Council during the period.

His carrier in the National Politics started in 2000 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Matara District. He has been reelected to the Parliament in 2010 and was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs.
