The Main Welfare Association of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government has launched a Facebook group dedicated to officers in the entire public service to share their artistic creations. The Association has taken steps to create an opportunity for any public officer to share their poetry, songs, short stories, dances, short films, drawings, photographs, etc. through this Facebook group named Mahagedara Panhinda.

This Facebook group was officially launched at the ministry on the 07th of this month under the auspices of Mr. Neel Bandara Hapuhinne, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government. Addressing the gathering, the Secretary stated that his expectation is to see a public service enriched with officers with artistic talents through this endeavor. The guest speech at this event was delivered by the Commissioner General of Official Languages, prominent writer Mr. Prince Senadheera.

The Welfare Association has also decided to select the best creative work at the end of every month and the winner will be given a prize.
