Prime Minister instructs the officials….
Prime Minister and Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government stated that it is a timely requirement to regularize the divisional administration and he instructed the higher-ranking officers of the Ministry to take immediate action to solve the issue of lack of Grama Niladharies, which is essential for regularizing the divisional administration. The Prime Minister expressed these views at the progress review meeting of the Ministry.
Prime Minister further stated that the efficiency of the service of Grama Niladharies has been reduced since officers act in the post of Grama Niladhari in many Grama Niladhari Divisions in the Island. The Prime Minister pointed out that it is unfair for a large number of persons, who have applied for the examination in year 2021, due to not filling these vacancies and he instructed the Secretary of the Ministry to expedite these recruitments. It was also stated that it is essential to provide the facilities for the Divisional Secretariats, which are the center of divisional administration and the construction of the buildings of many Divisional Secretariats has been stopped half way. The officers were instructed to look into this matter and take action to complete these developments projects without delay.
The Prime Minister stated that it is the objective of his government to deliver public service in a proper manner despite any obstacle and asked the officials to dedicate themselves in this regard at the maximum level. Many officials of the Ministry including Mr. Janaka Wakkumbura, State Minister and Mr. Rnajith Ashoka, Secretary of the Ministry were present at this occasion.
